Khewra salt mines are located in district Jhelum of Punjab, Pakistan. It is about 200 kilometers form Islamabad and Lahore and 30 kilometers form tehsil Pind Dadan Khan. The estimated salt available in these mines is around 220 million tonnes. It is an attractive place for tuorists, around 250,000 visitors visit the mines every year. There are many artistic models including Minar-e-Pakistan and mosque are built inside the tunnel with bricks made of salt.
